Youths protest against sit-tight Rep, Dickson’s aide declares bid

A Special Adviser to Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson and former President , Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide ,
Dr Felix Tuodolo , has declared his intention to represent Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency , Delta State, in the House of Representatives . Tuodolo , who wants to run under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party , is plotting to unseat Mr Nicholas Mutu , their representative , who has been in the House since 1999 (close to 20 years. ) His declaration came just as youths on Saturday held a procession in Bomadi, a border town between Delta and Bayelsa states , to protest against Mutu . The youths , who marched some kilometres, chanting solidarity songs , vowed to vote out Mutu , telling him that he was not a ‘ life representative ’ and that the people of the constituency were fed up with his sit - tight syndrome . Some of the placards brandished by the angry youths had inscriptions such as , ‘ Children born when you went to the House have grown up ’ , ‘ This time , power must change hand ’ , ‘ We are tired of sit- tight representative’ , ‘ Enough is enough ’ , among others. Addressing party leaders and members at Bomadi Federated Community Modern Town Hall, Tuodolo promised to provide effective representation to his constituents . The former Bayelsa Commissioner for Culture and Ijaw National Affairs said he had been sacrificing to serve the Ijaw land in several ramifications .
